When the heat quits during a Central Florida cold snap
Most of the year, the heating side of your system sits quietly in the background. Then a front drops through, the overnight low hits the thirties, and you find out whether it still works. That's usually when the phone starts ringing at Certified Air Masters LLC — a system that cooled perfectly all summer blowing room-temperature air in January.
Because heat gets used so little here, problems tend to hide until the first cold night. A failed heat strip, a bad contactor, a reversing valve that won't switch over, a thermostat wired for cooling only — none of it announces itself in August. We come out, find the actual cause, and tell you what it will take to fix it before we start swinging tools.
We also see plenty of systems where the heat is technically working and the house still feels cold, which is a different problem with a different answer. Either way, the first visit is about figuring out which one you have.
A written estimate before anyone touches your system
Every heating repair we quote comes with a written estimate before work starts. You read the number, you decide, and then we go. No verbal ballpark that drifts upward once the panel is off, and no work authorized on your behalf because the tech was already there.
That matters more with heating than people expect. A repair on an older system can be a straightforward part swap, or it can be the moment to talk about whether the unit is worth another winter. Having it written down means you're comparing real options instead of trusting your memory of a conversation in the driveway.
- No heat, weak heat or heat that runs constantly without warming the house
- Systems that cool fine but won't switch into heating mode
- Electric heat strips that trip breakers or smell hot on startup
- Thermostats that call for heat and get nothing back
- Diagnostics on a system you've been told needs replacing, for a second opinion
