Heat pump repair, maintenance and replacement year-round
A heat pump is the system most Central Florida homes rely on, and it works harder here than almost anywhere else. It runs as your air conditioner through nine months of heat and humidity, then flips over and becomes your heater on the handful of cold mornings in January. That means one piece of equipment carries your whole year, and when it quits, nothing else picks up the slack.
Certified Air Masters LLC works on heat pumps across Clermont and the surrounding area — diagnosing a unit that has stopped cooling, servicing one that is still running but not keeping up, and replacing systems that have reached the end of their life. If you are looking for honest heat pump repair rather than a sales pitch, that is what we do: find the actual fault, explain it in plain language, and tell you what it costs before anyone picks up a tool.
What goes wrong with heat pumps in Central Florida
Most of the calls we take come down to a short list of problems. Knowing the symptoms helps you describe what is happening when you reach out, and it helps us arrive with the right parts on the truck.
- Blowing warm air in summer. Low refrigerant, a failing compressor or a reversing valve stuck in the wrong position.
- Running constantly without cooling down the house. Often a dirty coil, a restricted filter or a system that was undersized for the home to begin with.
- Cold air when you call for heat. The reversing valve or the defrost control is usually the culprit, not the unit itself.
- Outdoor unit not starting. Capacitors, contactors and fan motors take a beating in Florida heat and are common failure points.
- Water around the air handler. A clogged condensate drain, which is cheap to clear and expensive to ignore.
- Electric bills climbing with no change in habits. Usually an aging system losing efficiency, or one quietly running on backup heat strips.
Some of these are a same-visit fix. Others are the point where it makes more sense to talk about replacement than to keep putting money into a system that is already past its useful years. We will tell you which one you are looking at and let you make the call.
A written estimate before we start, from Frank and Ruth
Certified Air Masters LLC is family-run by Frank and Ruth. When you book, you are dealing with the people whose name is on the business, not a call center that passes your address to whoever is closest.
Every job gets a written estimate before work starts. You see the price on paper, you know what is included, and you decide from there. Nothing gets added partway through the afternoon because something else turned up.

If you would rather hear it from customers than from us, our reviews are public — you can read them on Yelp, Angi, Facebook, Instagram and Nextdoor before you ever pick up the phone.
Hours, pricing and service area
We are open Monday to Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm, and Saturday, 8:00am–1:00pm. Closed Sunday. Pricing is quoted in writing for your specific job rather than guessed at over the phone, because a capacitor replacement and a full heat pump changeout are not the same conversation.
